Water damage in our basement went unnoticed for two years. By the time we found the Stachybotrys, my lungs were scarred and my brain didn’t work. Sold the house at a loss. Moved from Vancouver to the Okanagan for drier air. Small cabin, no carpet, woodstove converted to electric. When fire season hits I sometimes drive to the coast to breathe. I sleep in my car at rest stops because I can’t afford hotels.
Canadian healthcare is free and useless for this. Waited 11 months for an internal medicine referral. He said ‘interesting case’ and referred me to someone else. The loop never ends.
