This is a Founding Story — built from real canary experience patterns. Read how our stories work →
Post-COVID. Lingering fatigue and brain fog that never cleared, then gradually developed sensitivity to fragrances and cleaning products over the following year. My allergist suspects mast cell involvement but says I’m ‘subclinical.’ I function, I work, I socialize — but I feel like I’m operating at 60% capacity all the time and nobody around me notices because I’ve gotten good at hiding it.
Apartment works fine. I control the products, I keep windows open. Stockholm in winter makes that painful.
Swedish healthcare took me seriously. Ran mast cell panels, tryptase, histamine metabolites. Everything came back ‘high normal.’ The doctor said she believes me but the numbers don’t quite meet diagnostic thresholds. I’m in medical purgatory.
This is a personal experience, not medical advice. ImACanary.com makes no causation claims.
Stay with the flock.
